The Esprit schools, like many other schools, ask the parents/guardians of our students for a voluntary parental contribution. Education in the Netherlands is funded by the national government and is sometimes supplemented by municipal subsidies. These contributions are sufficient to provide education to our students. With the requested voluntary parental contribution, we would like to offer additional educational activities on top of our basic offer that enrich our education. The parents who are on the participation council have agreed in advance with the amount and destinations of the parental contribution.
The parental contribution should not be a barrier for parents/carers who are unable or unwilling to pay. That is why the parental contribution is always voluntary. All students are welcome at all activities and will never be excluded.
